Happy Birthday!!
LunyRem Dec 10, 2019 8:26 PM

Can you believe this? I don't have Internet connection for several days now! D= I could only connect online from my older sister's place. It's a good thing theirs wasn't affected. There's a massive network outage in our area and both of my Net at home & at work were both affected. ._. Now I'm so behind on anime episodes I watch weekly.

So I usually visit their place where I bring my Switch and I play games with my nephew. This is the only place right now where I could connect to Course World in SMM2 so I only have very limited time to play online. Besides, I let my nephew borrow my Switch so he could play both of the games I own. Anyways, I'm about to try playing your latest level which is a Holiday-themed level, and I surely could not forget that specific toy-filled level! =D

I don't have Internet at home for days so I've been working on my next level in Coursebot. It's going to be one extremely long, brutally tough level and 1/3 of the level is already complete. Still far from done, but upon looking at what I've built just now, this one is.......*gasp*.....it's going to be a real pain to upload once it's completed, lol. I truly miss making very tough levels and this one is gonna be it! I'm too terrified to imagine how it's gonna be during the Clear-check, haha!
LunyRem Nov 8, 2019 12:28 AM

Hiiiiii!! Things are going great for me now. Halloween is over although I never really felt the spirit of Halloween from where I live... =w=; I managed to beat both of your spooky levels but I'm really surprised you actually prepared two spooky stages for October. =o

The World Record for Trials of Nightmare is sick. I highly doubt I could beat that. Btw, I realized that it was a reupload, so I had no idea what I missed with the first version before it got taken down. And I think I could perform a better run on Ghostly Quest at Pumpkin Land as I figured something out which I haven't tried yet on my first WR attempt. But somebody else already has a better WR on it so I guess I'll just have to leave that alone. The boss room in this level, though. Wow! That was supposed to be the solution I was trying to think of on how to reproduce the Bill Blaster dispenser from the original Rabbit House level in SMM1! The same method won't work anymore in SMM2, but it's still possible to reproduce the dispenser gimmick by using On & Off Switches, which was something I never thought of, for crying shame... ^^'

This is funny. One of the tougher levels I've beaten for First Clear has surprisingly been played by Midna in one of his videos. I already tweeted about this level over a week ago. I have the first clear on it! (ID: 685-PLH-KFF) The current WR in here is unbelievable. I can't imagine how to swim so quickly in an underwater stage that's full of Spinys...

Here's an interesting challenge where you could try to snatch First Clear! ID: VV3-N9S-YHF The level starts off fairly easy while the road after the checkpoint is where things become much more interesting. Still fairly easy although nobody has beaten it yet. I don't know if the vertical autoscrolling sub-world actually had a purpose... Well, good luck with this one! It doesn't look hard at all! Maybe you could take advantage of that hidden door somewhere on the map preview.
LunyRem Oct 11, 2019 2:34 AM

I don't remember how there were some parts from the original that could get broken, but the remake of The Galactic War in SMM2 is pretty good! The addition of the on-off blocks/switches, as well as the new sound effects, further elevated the awesomeness of this remake. =3 Ja, I'm in favor of the idea of putting Black Hole Bowser in place thanks to that little Muncher and defeating him grants the key immediately.

I would have never imagined you'd upload your new level so soon. I was thinking you were waiting for your birthday before you decide to upload it. xd I wasn't ready for that, and just like I said previously, I was playing a different level for First Clear at the same time your new level was uploaded. You've seen that NSMBU speedrun I played that required all 125 coins to clear? It was that one.

Allow me to give you some tips on how to get your levels played by more people. =3 Sending them on viewer level livestreams would benefit a lot to give your levels more exposure, but there are other ways aside from that. See if you can play many different levels by level makers who aren't from the Popular Courses tab. The popular levels always get dozens of plays per day that I'm sure it would be impossible for the level creator to keep track of every single player who cleared and/or gave a like to their popular level and he/she wouldn't notice everyone. Besides, I'm not really sure if those level makers from the Popular Courses tab actually play in exchange. >.>

See if you can play, clear, like, and leave a comment on the levels of these level makers I know. They have already played my levels in return hence I usually get a bunch of plays on my levels a few days after I upload them. =3 I know a good list of level makers who would be happy to play in return. They have a bunch of easy and normal levels that you can try.

So yeah. Your levels are spectacular, and these people would be more than happy to see and play your levels. Go ahead! =)

Remember, you can play and clear the level in Coursebot. You can even give a Like to the level in Coursebot. But you cannot leave comments to levels if they're in Coursebot. Also, if you play the downloaded level in Coursebot, it automatically updates to the level's stats that you've played the level. =w= If you clear the downloaded level more than once in Coursebot as long as you're offline from the game, then the game will update the level's stats in Course World but it will only show that you've cleared the level only once.

Some good news! =D I already found an awesome level that you should check out! It's got some simple yet clever puzzle platforming involving Thwomps in a snowy SMB3 stage! You should grab First Clear while nobody else does!
The Cold Thwomp Cavern - S1Y-7TP-NGG

It's a real shame. I was enjoying the level but I had to stop playing it so I can hand over the First Clear to you because it's such a great level! (I already reached the checkpoint but I don't know if there's a second CP) But no worries, I'll replay that level again after you're done. =w=)v And I won't attempt for a WR run, rest assured. lol. xd

While I'm still early and I haven't forgotten
LunyRem Oct 9, 2019 11:37 PM

Whhooaa!! Your 10th level for SMM2! I had a hunch it was gonna be Space Mario. I should have known! xd I think this is your best level yet! In terms of aesthetics and gameplay, this one stands out the most (of course, your older SMM2 levels are very good too). I can see the newest additions with using the on-off blocks/switches. When the core was destroyed, the Warning alarms erupted, and Black Hole Bowser is absorbing everything on sight. That was incredible!

I missed First Clear again! I was playing a different level earlier and it was incredibly tough! xd I think I spent around 20-30 minutes trying to beat that speedrun (with a clear condition) to snatch First Clear on it.

Alright! I'm sure you would find some uncleared levels that would catch your interest. However, I played a bunch of uncleared levels over the past week and while I grabbed First Clear on them, I should have considered quitting and giving you their level IDs, because those levels I played were soooooo good that I think you're going to like them. =D I should have let you take the First Clear for that Thwomp Elevator or Ace Koopa. xd There are plenty more, but I'm gonna have to grab their level ID's again. I think, once I spot some incredible level that's uncleared yet, I'll give you the level ID immediately, especially if it interests you. Of course, I'll evaluate the difficulty first as I won't be mean and give an uncleared Super Expert level, don't worry. xd
LunyRem Oct 4, 2019 2:55 AM

Howdy, partner! =D That's the Wild West level where I missed First Clear because on it I was on a family trip last week! xd But that was a great level and it's well-designed! I remember the original one from SMM1 but the train ride looks so much better now in SMM2 thanks to the actual desert theme and the Nintendo 64 music along with it, which is perfect! (^_^)b And it's really cool that this level is connected with my "Lazy Bones" Dry Jones level as a sequel and this one has produced a more climactic conclusion to the Wild West story. =)

You're already working on your next remake? Sounds awesome! I'm all prepared for what it's going to be. =) I can't make a good guess, but I'm assuming it's got something to do with Lunatic Shooting Gallery or Super S Cafe Stile or even Destroyer Yudachi Poi! or none of the above because of wrong guesses. xd

As for me, I don't want to start building my next level not until I finally earn what I've been grinding for in the game for several weeks! So right now, my main attention is focused on gathering first clears and more world records. xd

Btw, have you tried using "Detailed Search" yet? It's the best way to search for specific levels, especially for uncleared ones. I have found a bunch of hidden gems from Detailed Search (where I've earned first clears for these levels) and most of them deserve more plays. Some were pretty difficult, but some of them were easy & fun too. Maybe you could find an amazing level that I've never seen yet and you're more than welcome to snatch first clear on it. xd
LunyRem Sep 9, 2019 6:38 AM

I knew it! It just crossed my mind this morning that today is Sept. 9th and your next level had probably something to do with this specific date, and it looks like my hunch was right! I cleared your level and this is the first time I got a First Clear from any of your levels in SMM2! =D Good thing that it's Expert difficulty as some of those random players probably couldn't handle those challenging obstacles, especially a certain Muncher on Conveyors gimmick that I clearly remember from an old Jumpu level! ;) Haha! I see my course Curse of the Angry Ice King had some influence with the creation of this level too. Wait! Cirno is Boom Boom?? xd

The first area's got some decently challenging platforming. The area after the first checkpoint is a shmup stage with lots of danmaku to avoid! =D And then the boss herself himself. I got confused at first at what to do when I activated the On-Off switch in the boss room, not knowing where to go. I mistook the door for the one from where I came from. xd I managed an easy win thanks to the cape but I lost some valuable time by getting confused, lol. Hopefully, my WR would stay for a while as I can proudly say it was a no-death run, woohoo! xd I see the Cirno pixel art which is very similar to Reisen's pixel art from Lunatic Shooting Gallery which I believe was used as the model for this one.

I gather my First Clears in a different way, in case you're wondering. I stopped using the New Courses tab to look for new uncleared levels. Main reason is, the competition in the New Courses section is crazily strong. For example, I choose a brand new level with no plays, then I play it, and clear it. After I clear it, I would just be completely surprised to discover that there was already somebody else who cleared that aforementioned level before I did! In other words, my supposedly First Clear has just been sniped and stolen away from me! D= It's really annoying, especially if the other player who cleared the level before me has a faster clear time than I did. His or her World Record would be so much better than mine. It sucks! =/

A user from GameFAQs recommended to me a better method of gathering First Clears. I have started using the "Detailed Search" tab, which is on the right side of New Course. Through Detailed Search, I can specifically choose the levels I want to find by game style, game theme, difficulty, tags, and by clear rate or popularity. Here's a specific example that you can try:

The results will show all uncleared levels with the specified details. All results will surely be levels with 0 clears with a handful of attempts. It is through this where I find and choose which uncleared levels I wanna earn First Clears. There are countless combination of detailed results to choose from, and there's no race or competition here from everyone who is in pursuit of the New Courses tab. I find it more satisfying to earn First Clear from a challenging and well-made level so this is where I choose uncleared levels. =) This is also where I find those uncleared Super Expert levels! If I ever complete some of my findings from Detailed Search, I usually post pictures or videos of my gameplay into my Twitter as you can see. xd You can give this a try if you want some quick First Clears of your own. You can even do a video showcase in YouTube of your victories if you want. ;3
LunyRem Aug 22, 2019 8:55 PM

I never imagined that my Animated Picture Book level would earn this many plays after one week of its upload! Nyahaha! xd Thanks! =D And what's even sneakier is that I hid the night theme so some players would only notice it's night when certain powerups or enemies exhibit weird behavior on screen. xd Congrats on the previous WR, because somebody else already nabbed it. ^^'

Yep, the new Rabbit House is more doable even at Super Expert difficulty, but maybe you could clear it now if you would attempt it. =w= Some people who played this level stated that the latter parts were much easier since it's the big Chaim Chomps above the switches that's causing everyone too much trouble, including myself. xd I zoomed out in the editor thanks to view mode so I got to witness my pixel art of Chino in full view. =) It looks adorable! *o* I still haven't tried transferring my screenshots into someplace else.

Still too many achievements left in the game as there are some of them that I'll never obtain in my lifetime and it'll be a real struggle. There's a reward for getting a high score of 100 in Endless Super Expert but it's too far-fetched of an idea. Getting S+ Rank in Multiplayer Versus is also going to be extremely frustrating due to the amount of competition but there's also a reward for it. However, I'm already satisfied with my achievement of earning my first bronze medal in the game! =D It's a bronze medal for First Clears, and I already have tons of them. According to the Regional Rankings in the First Clear Leaderboards, I've already accumulated a total of 355 First Clears at the time of this post! =D I have more First Clears during the 7-8 weeks I've played SMM2 compared to my time playing SMM1 where I only had 247 First Clears there within the span of 3 years.

Multiplayer might work differently than you think because levels played in Multiplayer are always generated at random. The participating players can only vote among the 4 types of difficulty of the level, so it's possible that your vote for an Easy level can be overruled by 3 votes in Super Expert. =w=' We can't choose which levels to play in Multiplayer, so that means we can't choose Janttu's level or Naddict's level for a Multiplayer Co-op attempt. =w= I've attempted making a Room in Network Play, but it appears that I can choose the difficulty of the level we could end up playing while waiting for other players to join. However, I think the level will still be chosen at random by the game. I have yet to find out about this. You can wear the Pipe Hat proudly as proof that you did have a WR before. ^^'
LunyRem Aug 17, 2019 1:28 AM

You're cleared not just Ice King's level but my Animated Picture Book level too! Congrats! =D I plan to send the latter to Janttu on his next viewer level livestream. Naddict has already played it earlier. =3 Oh, and Naddict's reaction to your level's title was kinda funny for some reason. o-o; First level he played on his latest stream was my level, then last level he played on the same stream was your level. xd Your WR of 3 minutes and 55 seconds is a pretty good time and should be tough to beat for most players. =D My clear-check time on my own level is 2 minutes and 38 seconds. =o That's an insane time due to me speedrunning it during upload. xd If J-Bizzle attempts this level, he might beat my clear-check time. I know Z7 can grab WR on it too but he's currently more interested with tougher precision levels.

Rabbit House has already been reuploaded but it's still pretty difficult as you've previously seen when Janttu played it during his livestream. It's now classified as a Super Expert level for sure, but I plan to keep it that way now. The important thing is that I removed the boss concept which I reused from Koopa's Boundary Stronghold which consists of a big flying Koopa box that shoots too many deadly stuff. It was a very cluttered boss concept that I don't plan to use again in SMM2. Full map preview is still viewable from the More Info tab so I will still use pixel art whenever I can. xd I think my next level probably won't have one, unfortunately.

As for my sixth level, I can't decide when I would start making it. I wanna focus on gaining a few more achievements in the game. Not to mention, there are also stuff I would like to unlock in CTR:NF while the Grand Prix is ongoing because the event is only available for a limited time as well as the items exclusive along with the event.

Yeah, I think we can play online together in Multiplayer. =D I'm only playing Co-op in Multiplayer and I'm not interested with Versus. xd And some unlockables from Multiplayer could possibly be unlocked by playing with friends instead of random strangers, as long as it's in Multiplayer. Haven't tried making a "Room" yet in Multiplayer so I personally don't know how this works. Btw, since you've got WR on my level, you should have unlocked something for your Mii after earning your first WR! =D
LunyRem Aug 10, 2019 5:54 AM

And I have played and cleared both of your new levels before you told me about them! xd

Ohh, you cleared my first snowy level too! The upside-down sub-world was very tricky, but a lot of players who played it told me how much they liked the concept of this level. >w> It's the upside-down final boss fight that's ridiculously tough! xd Even I struggled with it during upload check. Looks like it was tough for you to clear the Ice King's level with no deaths, huh? xd

Yeah, but this one might end up a bit of a flop, though. There was one old boss concept I used which made the level too difficult and some players aren't liking that boss rush part. ;w; It's like the remake became 3 times tougher than the original! xd' Somehow, I'm thinking of re-uploading Rabbit House, as I'm not feeling comfortable from looking at that clear rate and I want more players to clear my most extravagant level. It's all Bowser Jr.'s fault for bringing too many goons with him to invade the Café! Oh, and everyone can still see the entire pixel art of Chino-chan! xd Just click on "More Info" and the full map preview should be there. =3 That's where Tippy is visible. Tippy is reachable in the level but only if players can access the bonus area! xd Well, I'm gonna have to take down this level soon, but it'll be back. I have some major adjustments that I would like to make in it.

Ohohoho! I recognize the first one! =D Pretty nice remake and the "wall" feature was a neat gimmick that's been added for SMM2. The camera continues moving after the blocks in the wall get destroyed. I have yet to use that gimmick in my future levels. I have WR in your remake level and I hope it stays there for good. Thankfully, KenKen didn't snatch it away. ;w;

That second one is awesome. =3 Really liking the "forest" theme of SMB3 as it resembles more of the Pipe Maze from SMB3 World 7. It's a perfect theme for a mechanical environment, or like a setting for factory levels. Good use of the vertical sub-world too, as I truly appreciate the concept for the first big boss upon entering the sub-world. Neat! A lot of players seem to be enjoying that level. =3

Uh-huh, my other favorite game for the Switch! =D I still have soooo many stuff to unlock in CTR:NF as I think it's very tedious to unlock everything in this game, such as the other characters, the karts, wheels, paint jobs, and even stickers. xd' There is this one character who's ridiculously difficult to unlock in CTR and my progress with that is like....35-40% only so far? Oh my, lol. xd And I'm still grinding for specific achievements in SMM2. I'm getting closer to obtain one specific medal and I'd be proud once I finally earn it. =3 Thanks! Friend request in Switch has been accepted. =D

Hey Josh, I haven't been active in MAL lately but 2 brand new levels have been recently uploaded. =D So yeah, I'm only getting to share them now. xd'

Curse of the Angry Ice King
Course ID: H2T-N89-BVF

First up is a level on snow-covered land but with a twist! Something weird happened that's why the "land" turned like that. Can you handle that kind of challenge? =3

And this right here is a remake! xd

Phew! I'm still grinding for a couple of achievements in SMM2, hence I've been playing it more often than Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled. Well, both games have kept me so busy lately. xd

I always forget! Here's my Switch friend code so you can add me if you want. =D
LunyRem Jul 28, 2019 10:14 PM

Well, isn't it great that both of our levels have been played by Janttu in the same Livestream? xd Feels great to watch the streamers play the levels I've made as I've been putting more effort in building my levels in SMM2. Decent difficulty, but not over the top difficult. Naddict cleared my second level in a no-death run during his Livestream. xd

I'm looking at the Anime Expo pictures in your blog and there's so much to look at! I already found a cosplayer of Rem. I'm satisfied. ;w; Oh, and that cosplayer of Chika Fujiwara is just as cute as in the anime! =D I like that Joker Harem ending T-Shirt. So many waifus! xd I see you bought the Akeno Himejima bathrobe figurine. Sweet! =D Even the Misaki Shokuhou figurine looks gorgeous! As well as the Maika figurine from Blend S! Nice acquisition! So have you been playing that Magical Marriage Lunatics Visual Novel you purchased? ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡°)

Have you given another shot at my level now that you've seen it in its entirety from Janttu's stream? xd The trickiest part of my level is the latter half of that long boss room, but everything else within the level is fairly doable with no deaths and simply dodging enemies. I must say I had fun designing the entire level, nishishishi! xd Fairly straightforward level, but it's decently challenging. Btw, I highly recommend turning on the comments in Gone Fishing, Gone Missing because there's a very hilarious drawing posted by CheapPopMan after he cleared it and that drawing deserves to be seen by many, lol! xd

I've already played & cleared the remake of the Brilliant Park level! =D It was great along with the application of new course elements from SMM2! And while I'm at it...

I have the World Record in your theme park level and hopefully I can keep it for good? I must say that I've been really lucky at the pinball machine. Cleared the pinball room in just 6 seconds, then I did my best to clear the entire level for a no-death run and thankfully I succeeded! I could have been faster in the tennis room, but oh well. It looks like a majority of players who cleared your theme park level have enjoyed it too and I'm sure they liked the concept a lot. =)

Also, I already found KenKen in SMM2! =D I played and cleared his underwater level with Thwomps, and in exchange, he played and cleared my 2 levels. =w= I'll be sure to play his levels again once I upload something new! And I'm still trying to find Otoyan in the game, hehe.
LunyRem Jul 19, 2019 7:34 AM

Yep. The Goomba Forest Temple is a very easy level that shouldn't be too hard to clear for a casual Mario player. =3 I've already watched your video showcase of my level and it was pretty fun watching it. xd Janttu has already played this level during his livestream too! xd

That antique level with the Koopa Clown Car and Springs with a 50(?) second time limit was probably the dumbest level idea I've ever come up with and I swore to myself to never create another monstrosity like that ever again. ^^' I've been playing plenty of new levels in Course World but levels in the 3D World style are currently a minority. While I'm getting the hang of 3D World, there are still more techniques that I haven't tried yet, for sure.

Ah, must be a ton of new merchandise from Anime Expo, huh? Wow, if only I've got enough money to spend to buy all the anime merchandise I could find in an anime convention. xd

I managed to finish my second SMM2 level this early! =D It's slightly more challenging than my first level so proceed with caution. xd

Feel free to play this new level anytime. And have fun! =D
LunyRem Jul 4, 2019 11:49 PM

And here we go! =D Presenting my first ever course for Super Mario Maker 2! xd

Hopefully, everyone would enjoy playing and clearing this course. It's so easy. =3 Oh, and I'm still practicing on the 3D World game style. I'm still a complete noob at it, hence I haven't been playing any 3D World course in Course World just yet. ^^' Wow, nice! DarkJake has First Clear on your first course! =D That must have been a long wait in the stream. xd Pretty fun 3D World course right there! I'll try my best to collect all key coins too. =3

No worries! Have fun at Anime Expo 2019. ^^
